Meet the Coach
Gordon Thomson has 10 years of coaching experience, ranging from coaching teams, to beginners, to pathway players and up to professional cricketers. He currently holds a CSA Level 2 Coaching Qualification (ECB Level 3 equivalent). He currently still plays cricket and has played a high level of cricket throughout his career.
He has a huge passion for fostering talent and ensuring enjoyment in the process. Through his knowledge of the game, effective coaching methods, analytical approach and a keen eye for detail, he has helped develop a number of players to reach pathway and county level. His expertise extends to all facets of the game including batting, bowling, wicket-keeping and mindset training.
His approach to coaching is like none other. He is patient yet demanding, quickly able to identify areas for improvement and offering clear, innovative feedback and ideas. His technical and tactical expertise sets him apart, and his versatility allows him to get results whether working with experienced players or beginners. He helps players identify their goals and then develops and implements a plan on how to reach those goals which is incorporated into his coaching sessions.
